Protect Oak Flat

“Last month Tribes discovered that the date for the completion of a crucial environmental review process has suddenly been moved forward by a full year, to December 2020, even as the tribes are struggling with a Covid outbreak that has stifled their ability to respond. If the environmental review is completed before Trump leaves office, the tribes may be unable to stop the mine. Oak Flat needs all of us now to come together. Below are suggested actions and ways you and your communities can organize and get involved to help Save Oak Flat Anything you can do is greatly appreciated.” Apache Stronghold

You can learn how to take action in helping Oak Flat protect their sacred places from further resource extraction, exploitation and colonialism. The means of capitalism is to exploit resources and labor; hard rock mineral extraction from Indigenous territories only benefits foreign corporations like Rio Tinto & Resolution Copper.

PAA in Tiwa Territory is in Solidarity with San Carlos Apache Nation in their fight to Protect Oak Flat from Resource Extraction. Use this Take Action List, to help aid in their actions and demands.
